Kristen’s 2012 Mix – Track 6 – Twin Atlantic

I spend all year going to shows and collecting songs and pictures and stories. I’ve spent the last month or so compiling some of my top musical memories into a music mix with accompanying booklet (my favorite little crafting project). So, here I share with you my top tracks of 2012.

Enjoy!!

Twin Atlantic

Twin Atlantic spent some time in the US at the beginning of the year. I also saw just about every set they did at SXSW. Not only do I love this band’s music, but they have excellent musical taste going on tours with both We are The Ocean and Dead Sara. Dream lineup! This song comes from a special EP released this year. If you don’t know, I have a weakness for rock bands going acoustic.

Kristen’s 2012 Mix – Track 5 – terminal

I spend all year going to shows and collecting songs and pictures and stories. I’ve spent the last month or so compiling some of my top musical memories into a music mix with accompanying booklet (my favorite little crafting project). So, here I share with you my top tracks of 2012.

Enjoy!!

One of the best parts of my year was meeting three Danish rockers at The Culture Collide Music Festival. The ladies of High Voltage all fell in love and we adopted them. For about a month their music and company  were keeping me from drowning in the seemingly endless stressors of my life. One of the highlights of terminal’s all too short visit to LA was an acoustic skype/recording session on the beach where they played this song.

NEEDTOBREATHE at Club Nokia- 3/20

Last night Club Nokia was enchanted by Southern rockers, NEEDTOBREATHE. It was one of those shows that was so good you found yourself coming home and immediately looking at the band’s tour calendar and pricing flights. I promised my friends some pictures so check out LMN’s facebook page for my album. Bonus: a clip from the encore song of “Slumber” which the band did acoustic and without microphones.

Yeah, last night was just a little amazing…

Opening for NEEDTOBREATHE was one of my favorites, Ben Rector. It was a winning combination. If you don’t know Ben, be sure to check him out. Here’s a cover he did last night:

MORE Nico Vega Acoustic!

Because they are just so brilliant…and there was a request, here is more of Nico Vega playing acoustic versions of their songs

This one is a cover, but it brings shivers down my spine and is probably one of my most viewed youtube videos.

And, as mentioned by boatdoll, Nico Vega live and plugged-in is a must have experience. Here is a taste:

If you’re in Los Angeles, they will be a part of the Sunset Strip Music Festival playing The Key Club August 27th.

Enjoy!

Warped Tour Pomona-pictures!

As promised, a few pics from our second Warped experience in Pomona.

The always amazing After Midnight Project (remember, the band that you’re going to go see at The Key Club on September 4th):

After Midnight Project also did an acoustic set! LOVE this.

Just a couple shots of Mayday Parade…playing on the tiniest stage, it was difficult to get up close for good pictures. Thankfully, this band emits so much energy, you don’t need to be up front to feel the music.

A few more enjoyable moments from the day:
