Greetings! I’m probably on a plane at the moment or just getting back from a whirlwind weekend seeing The Wrecks play the House of Blues in Chicago! I haven’t been to Chicago in far too long and the last time I was supposed to go was 2021 when something came up last minute and I couldn’t attend. We finish up Rocktober this week and thankfully, I have a few days to get it together before seeing Howie Day. How are you celebrating the end of Rocktober?

This week I moseyed out to a comedy show and a rooftop showing of Hocus Pocus but was low key the rest of the week. To be fair, my week started with feeling like I might be getting sick and feeling dead tired. There’s definitely some kind of funk going around right now with our bi-polar weather. This weekend, I’m doing an out and back to see The Wrecks since they have the audacity to be in San Diego when I will be otherwise occupied. I wish I was here for Dead Poet Society, Switchfoot with Anberlin, and Daley. Also, wish I could be at Almost Monday this week. There’s really no bad options as Rocktober continues!!

Happy Sunday! It’s a gloomy one today after a tropical storm hit us yesterday. I’m taking it easy today after dancing the night away at a lovely and super fun wedding last night. Some of us were talking about the early bird events that remind us of going out dancing and how much fun those would be for those of us who have to get up in the morning. As chance would have it, there’s one this week at the Music Box and I’ve decided to start including them on my calendar. I can’t be the only one who loves the idea of an event being over by 9:30pm/10pm. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a complete night owl at home but when I was at Michelle Branch a few weeks ago, I kept yawning even though it was only 9:30pm! Nothing against the show but I don’t go out enough to be in show shape anymore. Speaking of show shape, this week is shaping up with shows except for Thursday, for some reason. Consider that a rest night.

Welcome to Rocktober!! It sure started with a bang this past week. Yours truly made it out to not one but two shows this week! Shocking, I know. Friday I was with my emo homies at the Casbah for Every Avenue and I finally got to check out Ikana and fell in love with Felicity! It was a wonderful time and I can’t recall the last time I had been to the Casbah. Tonight I’m off to see Michelle Branch and will be checking out The Sound for the first time. Last week I was inspired by a wild hair and a coupon code from Seat Geek so, I ended up making it out to Pierce the Veil! It was fun to see everyone dressed up and living their best life at a big arena show. I haven’t been to one of those in awhile. I’m also super stoked I got to see In Color since their cancelled their Soda Bar show (now we know why) as well as Julia Wolf. This week hold some heavy hitter names you might recognize as well. Not sure what I’ll get up to since I seem to be in an organization groove again but maybe some free tickets will inspire me.
