Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a fabulous, fun, and safe evening. I spent mine at home binge watching “Longmire” and I will be sorry when I reach the end. I’m looking forward to 2018 and the bright new possibilities it will bring all of us but I admit that the past year flew by in a blur. I’m not really sure where time goes anymore but I’m happy for some pending 2018 plans I already have set up.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas or whatever you celebrate. I made prime rib and twice baked potatoes. I really need to start watching what I eat a little bit better as I might have over indulged during the holidays but, ’tis the season! The rest of my holiday was pretty low key. I missed a Disney trip during Christmas time this year due to the fire weather warnings. Kind of a bummer but it’s not like I’ve never been during the holidays. I’m glad it’s starting to feel a little more like a San Diego winter here. It’s about time!

This week has been a stressful one for me. With the increased potential for a fire to spring up and the Lilac fire already burning, I’ve been worried about my horses and the barn. Hopefully the weather will change next week and it won’t be so bad out there. The winds have already been better than they were earlier in the week and I don’t feel like I’m doing resistance training just trying to walk around at the barn.

I spent this past weekend up in LA. I was up there for Emo Nite Day and it was super fun! I’ve always wanted to do one of the Emo Nite things in San Diego but I’ve never actually been to one. Those Emo Nites are usually just some djs playing their favorite tunes whereas this was actual band members playing tunes. I need a bit of recovery from the drive home but maybe I’ll pop out this week… There’s a lot to choose from this week and I’m leaning towards The Used but I’m also hoping I can find a spare ticket to see Zane Carney open for Johnny Lang. So many options!

Thanksgiving is over. Leftovers are still abound. I haven’t been to the gym like I should be with the amount of food I’ve eaten and I’ve been taking a lot of naps lately. Oh well… I did make it out to see Mrs. Henry do thing at The Belly Up though! I’m very happy that place has seats! I’m hoping to have an easy week of more eating, some Christmas shopping (maybe), some (hopefully) increased gym time, and maybe make it to a show. We shall see…

One of my favorite holidays is upon us this week. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween but I can always get behind a holiday where a massive amount of cooking and eating is encouraged. I think my favorite part is taking all the leftovers and putting them together and heating them up as like a giant mish mash. I don’t know why but it’s always super tasty to me.

I has so much fun at Fall Out Boy last week that I was kind of wrecked for a few days. I don’t know when I got old but it guess that’s life. So, I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the time you have with your friends and family, whatever that means to you 🙂
