I hope everyone had a Happy Easter or a Happy Sunday depending on your personal persuasion. I myself had a wonderfully lazy day after being at The Belly Up the night before for Transfer, Blackout Party and Shakes Before Us. After a lovely night like that, I needed my day of rest. I can’t believe next Sunday Kristen and I depart for SXSW! Since the festival is fast approaching, so many SXSW artists are coming through San Diego on their way to Austin. Lots of local San Diego bands are gearing up for the drive as well. Favorites like Ivan and Aloysha are playing Soda Bar tomorrow night, The Silent Comedy, Dead Feather Moon, and The Howls at The Belly Up on Thursday, Stone Foxes at The Casbah on Friday and let’s not forget Fierce Creatures on Sunday at Tin Can Alehouse! That doesn’t even begin to cover the half of it! Whew.

It’s another day in paradise. The sun is out, it’s warm but not hot, and the birds are making their own chirpy music. Yep, it’s a hard life here in San Diego. After all my outings this past month, I’m taking it easy this week. I found out I’m not 21 anymore and able to be out every night and fully functional the next day. This old girl needs some R&R but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out this week. We have some great shows including; Atomic Tom at Lestats, The Burning of Rome at Soda Bar, The New Kinetics at Tin Can Alehouse, and Martin Sexton at The Belly Up. Get out there!

Well the holidays are knocking at our doors and it seems like we were just having some summer fun. I can tell you that the holidays bring wonderful holiday shows to our lovely San Diego area. I myself was part of the media crew for 91X and was at Wrex the Halls both days. When I wasn’t shooting some video or stills, I was watching bands like Cage the Elephant (my personal fav), Florence + The Machine (from the side sage!), Naked and Famous, Mutemath (headstand on a piano just because), Blink 182 (Travis Barker is amazing!!), Pennywise, Switchfoot (super fun), Death Cab for Cutie (watched Ben Gibbard do a drum breakdown from side stage), and soooo many more bands! It was wonderful and magical as always. Never thought I would have the opportunity to do such great things!

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Kristen came down to my place and we feasted on way too much food. It was a wonderful dinner and we still have tons of leftovers. On another note, can you believe it’s almost December?! I mean, where did the time go? I realize I say that a lot but it must really get away from me. I swear it was just summer.
