Happy 2018! I know 2017 wasn’t the best year for everyone, but I think I made out okay. It was a year for a new job, new friends, and new adventures including two trips to Europe, a baseball game in St. Louis, and two out of town music festivals! I’m still working on my 2017 Music Mix, but it was a fairly decent year for music. 2017 marked the discovery of favorite bands like Picture This and Sur, the resurgence of Sir Sly, the continuing growth of Irontom, a reunion for Jealousy Curve, new albums for Barnes Courtney and Nothing But Thieves, the grand debut of Mondo Cozmo, and a very long list of amazing shows. I think, however, that my band of the year is probably The Wrecks who I believe will dominate in 2018 when they (hopefully and finally) release an album…or at least more than three songs…
I’m not sure what my first show of 2018 will be but we have a few options next week. I’ve got my eyes on Lewis Capaldi at Moroccan Lounge…we shall see!
