I was at a show on Friday waiting for the headliner to take the stage when the whole room erupted into cheers. The stage was still empty so it took me a minute to figure out that enough people in the room were paying attention to the baseball game on their phones that when the Dodgers won, it caused a massive group moment. Things that can bring strangers into a euphoric group consensus – sports and music – coming together.
