New Venue Alert! I have found my way to Pacific Electric, a new music room kinda near Chinatown. The mid-sized space shines with its clean lines, exposed brick walls, and proscenium arch highlighting the stage. There are plenty of sight lines in the box-y main room including from a balcony with risers for multi-row viewing. The lighting and sound also feel clean and new (I didn’t even need ear plugs!). My biggest issue was the complete lack of seating outside of the ADA section. Thankfully, the floor is still clean and new as concert-goers didn’t hesitate to plop themselves all over the ground. While the venue lends itself to an experience that feels more clinically perfect than magically authentic, I hope this will change as more memories are created within these walls.
