I was lucky enough to have two wonderful show experiences this weekend. First was Creature and The Woods at Winston’s in Ocean Beach. I haven’t been there in years but I had a lovely time and even found a new band I like called Bedroom Talk out of Riverside. It was a late night, but a good night. The second was with Parade of Lights at The Loft at UCSD. We almost didn’t make it into the show but we got lucky and had a wonderful time! There was a lot of dancing and even an encore! Lovely evenings!

This week is shaping up to be another good one. We are just getting Rocktober started after all…

This weather has been absolutely miserable. It’s September, almost October and you just need to cool down. Literally. Weather wasn’t the only thing hot this weekend though. I caught the very first show of Billy Sunday, a side project of Jeremiah Zimmerman of The Silent Comedy which also featured a few other Silent Comedy peeps and a Fierce Creature. The next time they play, you have to go!! It was just a dancing good time! I mean, I wasn’t dancing because heat and sweat but a lot of people were and I was bouncing in my seat so that counts, right?

Apologies for the late post today. Yesterday was the last day of Kaaboo and I was super tired so I didn’t get a chance to do my write up the night before like I usually do. I think I was home at 10:30pm, showered, and was out by 11:15.

Howdy all! This post is coming to you courtesy of a friend’s laptop because I left my laptop at home for my Chicago trip and I forgot that I come in late Monday night. Whoops! Tonight I did the unthinkable and watched the VMAs. When I say “watched” what I mean to say is that I dvr’d the awards and ended up fast forwarding through most of the evening. I didn’t know who the majority of the people were at that event were be them performers or presenters and I’m totally okay with that. I’m going to go back into my little “underground” bubble now because I’ve had enough of this “pop culture” to last me awhile.

August is drawing to a close which means some really exciting events for me in September. First, I’ll be going to Riot Fest for the 10 year anniversary of Almost Here from The Academy Is… which is a band I credit with getting me off the Top 40 radio and exploring other musical possibilities. They haven’t performed together in 5 years so this is super exciting for me. Second is Kaaboo, which is a local permutation of Coachella at the Del Mar Fairgrounds with some super amazing acts, including a lot of LMN favs. Super stoked!

This week is also kind of slow on shows. Sad face.

I had a pretty great birthday this year. It was spent at Disneyland and was pretty magical even for a usual Disney trip. However, I really feel the need to hit the gym hard this week. I’m not sure how much that will happen given the projected rising heat for the week. I might just melt into a puddle this week. We shall see. However, I will for sure be at Taylor Swift this week.
