I had the absolute joy of a last minute show in Anaheim on Saturday. There’s a band called The Pink Spiders and I picked put their album from a Best Buy weekly flyer and immediately fell in love. And then, the band never came to San Diego and then I read that they broke up. You can imagine I was super thrilled to see they were back and out on tour. It was super fun because they played all the songs I knew and lived and some that I didn’t know. It was a good night.

San Diego is drying out from the enormous (for us) amount of rain we had last week. I finished re-listening to the Harry Potter series for the umpteenth time (not sorry) and am back on the Casefile train. I’m also recovering from shaving my horse (you read that right) and it wouldn’t be such an ordeal if I wasn’t so anal retentive. I do get a break this week to see Sir Elton John up in LA on Wednesday! Otherwise, I’m looking towards next week and The Silent Comedy show.

I’m currently watching some Iron Chef reruns while sitting in warm pjs while waiting for the rain to come (edit: this was written on Sunday, I was out at the barn today) and enjoying the simple things. I also just had some curry and will be having some homemade French Onion soup for dinner. I’m pretty excited about that. I can’t decide if I’m feeling more Grinch or more festive this holiday season. There are definitely times where I feel like I hate everyone and then days I find myself singing Christmas songs. I guess that’s kind of how the holidays are in general. I feel like they came much too fast this year and I feel rather under-prepared compared to other years. Not really sure what to do about it other than to just embrace it, shrug it off, and start fresh in 2019. Shows are a little light on the ground until we hit Saturday, so enjoy that extra helping and then go dance it off this weekend!

I had a lovely time in NYC with Kristen. I wasn’t nearly as active as her in terms of getting around, but the whole thing was exactly what I needed. It gave me a chance to get refreshed and ready. Also, a little Broadway never hurt anyone, the magic was definitely in the air!

I’m pondering plans for NYE and I’m not sure if I want to actually do anything or just continue the homebody tradition. There’s still time though. In the meantime, I’m getting ready for Christmas.
