I’d by lying right now if I said I didn’t have “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift stuck in my head right now. It’s kind of an awesome little mantra I have going on right now. I spent my Friday night in Pioneertown at Pappy and Harriet’s to see Transfer and it was pretty amazing. I stayed the night in a cabin up there and ate at this wonderful little place called The Natural Sisters Cafe on my way out of town. I have a 4 Day badge secured for Comic Con next year thanks to a friend who got in the room during pre-registration (I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been called in) so, score! And to top it off, after having a serious case of the dropsies for the last 4 days, I somehow scratched my eye. That might be a little TMI but it’s a first for me. Oh, and I’m pretty happy to have Tuesday off from school so I can catch up on my art homework. So, that’s what’s new in Amanda-land. Enough about me though because there is a lot of music this week!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween and Halloween weekend. I had probably one of the best Halloweens ever and I’ve still got that inner glow. So, last week was kind of full and not in the show going kind of way. I hurt my shoulder in dance class and thankfully today it’s way less sore (and crunchy) than it was when I hurt it on Thursday. Saturday was a loooooooong day at the barn which resulted in me passing out by 10:30pm (I’m getting old!) and yesterday was a “get stuff done) kind of day. Whew. Here I was, going “yay, it’s finally fall!” and the weather has responded with the heat coming back for the weekend saying, “nope!” On top of that, I am currently without a computer so I’m drafting this post from another without all my usual bookmarks so if I miss anything, I apologize. I got my laptop back a few weeks ago after a failed logic board and it’s been acting up since last Thursday. Funny thing is, these things only seem to fail when you’re at home, right? Can you believe it’s already basically October? I can feel fall is in the air and it’s absolutely wonderful! It’s a bummer to walk into Costco and see Christmas stuff though when Halloween hasn’t even happened yet. Such is the way of consumerism I suppose. I’m headed up to LA today to catch Sir Sly at the El Rey. I would have seen them last night in San Diego but my mom got tickets for us to see Paul McCartney so naturally that took priority. It’s was a fun show and I’m so happy to see an older musician who still has their voice and their skill. I feel like that’s so rare these days.

As I said last week, Rocktober is beginning to ramp up as evidenced by this weeks very full schedule. Make sure you get out this week to catch some of these amazing acts coming through. As that one guy in Jurassic Park said, “hold on to your butts!”
