Happy Monday friends! It’s a grey day from where I’m currently sitting but that’s no reason to feel gloomy. This is the last week of the Del Mar Fair, excuse me, San Diego County Fair. I’m hoping to go one more time on Wednesday and ride some rides and watch Lit play that evening. We also have the Beatles Under Cover night tonight at the Office Bar with tons of people from local San Diego bands. I myself will be visiting a friend on the other coast for a show but we can’t forget the 4th of July is this Friday with tons of places to catch some fireworks. It’s going to be a good week.

Yesterday was the first time in about a year that I took my horse in a jump show. Honestly, I don’t remember feeling so tired and sore after a long day out in the sun. Thankfully, I was able to unwind in the evening with a lovely sold out show from The Milk Carton Kids. Today will be spent in recovery mode for me especially because getting off the couch is a difficult thing for me to do right now.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone out there! I started my day watching a ceremony they were having at a cemetery next to my barn. They were playing old time American music (I’m not really sure what else to call it) and there was a beautiful speech complete with a 21 gun salute. Watching that was a big reminder of how lucky we are to live where we live because we have people who fight for this country. It’s pretty beautiful.
