I’m still riding that post show high courtesy of the double header of The Silent Comedy this weekend. Those guys just warm my heart so much. It’s kind of hard to put into words. And while their shows are few and far between these days, I always have the absolute best time with their music and friends I’ve made from their shows. I could probably go on but I’m just going to stop right there.

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 9/4-9/10

Happy Labor Day from San Diego! I can’t imagine a better way to spend the long weekend than with two doses of The Silent Comedy and a Cardinals/Padres baseball game…and air conditioning!  Yesterday’s The Silent Comedy set took place at a Beer/Tequila festival.  You know I love a band when I will brave an alcohol fest in 90+ degree weather.  After the music, the weather cooled down and we wandered around downtown SD, caught a bit of a blues band, chatted with friends, and ate some delicious carnitas fries.  It was a great night!

We have a massive heat wave coming this week and I am less than thrilled about the whole thing. This past week has been bliss with it being milder and even a little cold in the mornings. This upcoming week has temperatures averaging in the high nineties, I’m not sure how super coherent I’ll be at the end of the day. One thing is for sure, I’m not missing the two (!!) The Silent Comedy shows this weekend. That’s probably the only show oriented thing I’m going to do this weekend but maybe something from the lineup will lead me into temptation…

I am about to head downtown for a play (a PLAY!). Very exciting stuff. As such, I need to keep this brief. Let’s see. Next week, I’d highly recommend just moving into The Grammy Museum. That will do. We also have a very quiet appearance of Maverick Sabre opening for Jorja Smith at The El Rey Tuesday night. I am about to head out for another round of Echo Park Rising (via a birthday lunch downtown).  I was at EPR Thursday and enjoyed the evening, but I was definitely wearing the wrong shoes and ended up limping around the office on Friday. So, Hans Zimmer live was absolutely amazing!!! He and his orchestra did a bunch of stuff from Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Lion King, Man of Steel, and so much more. It was full of feels, love, passion, and excellence.

My birthday is next week and I don’t really have anything planned for right now. I’ll take any suggestions. Already going to Disneyland with my mom on the day of but I’d like to find something else to do with friends…
