Amanda’s SD Concert Calendar 7/20-7/26

By the time you are reading this, I will be however many thousand feet up in the air (again) for the second half of my Neon Trees Summer Vacation. I’m super excited because I’m sneaking in some James Bay during my trip and that guy is always worth taking some time to see. I’ll also be visiting friends I only get to see every so often so that will be very nice. The weather back there is about as yucky (read: humid) as it is here. Probably worse actually. This is the first time I’ve packed a swimsuit for a trip and I also packed shorts despite my deep distaste for wearing them. Oy.

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 7/20-7/26

This week felt very well-rounded. I found myself in a variety of places – lecture hall, hospital, ballpark, club, coffee shop, music venue, restaurant, train, park, etc. Musically, I was introduced to a new band love (Sonny Boy Thorn), danced with Little Boots, and had the extreme pleasure of not just listening to but meeting a living legend (Judy Collins). It was a pretty productive week. And far from boring!

Next week, show-wise at least, promises to be just as exciting. Top pick is a tie between Red Wanting Blue playing The Hotel Cafe and Sad Robot’s record release party at El Cid Wednesday night.

Amanda’s SD Concert Calendar 7/6-7/12

I hope everyone had a lovely 4th celebrating America and her independence. Mine was pretty chill, which was perfect because I had been to two shows the night before and I just can’t hack it like I used to. Yesterday was spent at Disneyland so I had a fairly productive weekend. Now, I have to buckle down and get some stuff done before the crew from High Voltage comes down for Comic Con. This week is going to be insanity. It always is, but in a good way. So while I will not be partaking in any musical adventures this week, rest assured, there are things to do. Choose wisely.

Amanda’s SD Concert Calendar 6/29-7/5

I went to my very first country music show this weekend. For being a girl with a horse who enjoys country music, you would think I’ve gone to a country show before but I haven’t. It was an interesting experience full of posers, wasted people, head bopping, and good tunes. I would do it again, especially now that I know what I’m in for. This week is kind of quiet music wise. Probably due to the holiday and Comic Con next week.
