From the can’t miss duo of Josh Kelley and Zane Carney at The Hotel Cafe to the gorgeous vocals of Jimmy Gnecco and the rock power of 8MM at The Viper Room, live music is what held me together last week. Anything in between was a bit murkier… Now I’m watching the Golden Globes (hello award season!) and thinking about next week’s musical options which includes more Monday night magic at The Hotel Cafe and Parade of Lights at The Echo on Thursday.

I am looking forward to this week and returning to a more normal show schedule. As much as I’ve enjoyed my evening X-Files watching, I’m beginning to hear Mulder and Scully’s voices in my head which might be fine, but they are usually arguing and that isn’t overly pleasant.

January brings with it some fantastic residencies. It’s the last month for seeing Zane Carney at The Hotel Cafe and as a bonus, Josh Kelley will be playing as well each Monday. Tuesday nights we have Leighton Meester at The Hotel Cafe and every Friday, Jimmy Gnecco at The Viper Room. This Friday will be particularly good as 8MM serves as Gnecco’s opener. This week is also a good one to head to The Satellite, as every night has free entry.
