Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 9/4-9/10

I finally got myself to the newly rebranded Knitting Factory in North Hollywood last week. Other than some new signage, the venue did not feel changed since The Federal Bar used to host gigs on their second story bar space. But I had a fabulous night catching up with The Material after 10 years of not playing shows and it’s nice to see the Knitting Factory brand return to Los Angeles.

Speaking of comebacks, next week marks the return of one of my favorite LA events, Echo Park Rising! The free event will take place across Echo Park including three stages at the Echo and Echoplex. Also featured next week we have Australian artist, Dan Sultan, and a really tough call Friday night between Sports Team and Betcha.

Hello from Bend, Oregon! I’m up here visiting a friend who moved here last year. She’s also the only person I trust to do my hair so it’s a two-for-one mini vacation of sorts, I get to see my friend, and my hair gets restored to its normal glory. The thing I am most looking forward to this week is The Silent Comedy show ON MY BIRTHDAY at Moonlight Beach and it’s FREE. Come dance with meeeeeeeeee!

UPDATE: The Silent Comedy show is cancelled due to the weather and the hurricane coming up from Baja.
