I’m still processing everything from SXSW (top discoveries playlist HERE), but this week I found myself in the middle of another convention, WonderCon, in Anaheim. It was nice to catch up with people in the press rooms that I’d only seen virtually for the last few years, but the event itself felt a little “less than” compared to previous WonderCon experiences. Top moments from the weekend include chatting with the cast of Prime Video’s Undone and my new tea sampler pack of geeky tea blends from Tea & Absinthe. Ever wonder what the different Doctors from Doctor Who would taste like as tea? I can let you know!

The hardest part of being in Anaheim was missing the opportunity to see Irontom open for The Red Hot Chili Peppers in LA Friday night. I will do my best to remedy that next week with shows featuring Sigrid, Lights, Kids in America and more:

I’m back in Los Angeles after a week spent in Austin, TX and I smell like BBQ. SXSW 2022 was everything I’d hoped it would be. I spent time with inspiring people, discovered many exciting new bands and, on my birthday, was at the rail for Dolly Parton who led the room in a round of “Happy Birthday” (not for me, but still, I’m counting it).

More on my new band loves to come, but tonight I’m heading to the Moroccan Lounge to see one of them, Red Rum Club, opening for The Lathums (also great!).
