I hope everyone had a successful and music-filled Record Store Day this weekend. I celebrated with not one, or two, but three shows from one of my very favorite bands, The Silent Comedy. They played acoustic record store sets Friday night in LA and Saturday afternoon in San Diego. Then Saturday night, the band came back in full rocking form at The Irenic in San Diego. They celebrated the 5 year anniversary of their album, Common Faults, by playing the entire album from front to back. It was a unique and very special occasion. I am very glad I could be there as the band may not be playing again for a while.
Now I’m going to finish my SD burrito before heading back to LA. I’m looking forward to many shows this week, especially Joe Firstman at The Hotel Cafe Thursday night.
