Well, it took away my SXSW and then my baseball and now my friends and my live music. This coronavirus has really been…a challenge. It’s my birthday week and I’d say my plans have been whittled down to a large boba and sitting on the beach with a book, but it will probably rain, I somehow lost the book I was reading, and who knows how much longer the boba shops will stay open.

Speaking of things being open, while many of LA’s music venues have shut down for at least the rest of the month, a few of the smaller rooms still seem to be hosting shows. This is not a recommendation to go out, simply a compilation of choice local shows that still seem to be a go. If going out, be safe and be sure to check social media day of to make sure events are still happening.  I’m seeing many artists announcing virtual concerts so what I would recommend is using your extra time at home to support your favorite artists in that way or discover some new ones! Maybe I’ll post a playlist…
