It’s been Joni Mitchell appreciation week as the world celebrates the 50th anniversary of her timeless, and hugely influential album, Blue. The New York Times put together a brilliantly immersive article on their website and NPR hosted a listening party along with Ann Powers in conversation with Brandi Carlile (who recently did a tribute to the album). For my part, I’ve been listening on repeat. This album puts me in a very specific head space with a unique combination of past life nostalgia, current life contemplation, and future life inspiration.
