I was honored to be at the Hotel Cafe Friday night for the return of Greg Laswell (his first headline show in 7 years). What I remember most from seeing Greg at the Hotel Cafe years ago was his storytelling and the intimate space made it feel like the room was in conversation for the near two hour set which covered all the hits as well as new tunes from his upcoming album, I’m So Happy That You and I Are Alive at the Same Time. It was a one of those magical nights that I’m going to miss when the venue moves.
