This past week was kind of a blur. Not sure why as I wasn’t super crazy busy that I can remember. Honestly, it takes me a minute to remember what I did the week before but I can remember something from when I was 5. But I digress. This week I drove up to Fullerton to see Dear Boy at the Slidebar with some friends from LA. It was so worth getting home at 2 am. Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching some friends jam some blues for a few hours. That always makes my heart happy. It was a good week.

I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving. We decided to actually do Thanksgiving at the last minute instead of just getting Mexican food. Our kitchen/living room has been a mess but it should be finished in time. Also, I’m a sucker for side dishes (give me all the green beans and mashed potatoes!!) and leftovers. But I’m thankful for good conversation with friends, family, good company, music that makes me feel things, and bands that have given me great friends.

If you’re looking for something to do before Thanksgiving, I highly suggest Billy Sunday at Park & Rec. Consider it a good excuse to get out of the house before all the crazy starts. The rest of the week looks like this….

Well, no shows for me again this week. I’m not really complaining though as I had an early Thanksgiving with family and a work function which meant a cruise around the bay and some good food. . I am bummed I missed a few of the showcases for the SD Music Thing but my energy levels were not at optimum for a night out. Did any of you make it to any of the showcases? I sure hope so! No shows for me this week but that’s totally okay. I was busy/exhausted this week but I had the joys from the shows the week before to keep me going. I also did some music management and purchased some new tracks yesterday to add to my music mix. In other news, I’ve been spending loads of time into my room due to the fact that there’s a hole in my living room ceiling due to the fact that there was a leak in a copper pipe. The whole thing needs to dry out before it can get patched up so there’s no family or living room as the family room is stuffed with the furniture from the living room. Wheeeeeeee!!!

You know, this whole bi-polar weather thing is getting really out of hand. Thankfully today was cooler than yesterday and by that I mean it was mid 90’s instead of triple digits. Last, I checked, this was San Diego, not Arizona. I did manage to make it out of the house on Friday for the Redwoods Revue, which was a truly enjoyable evening especially because I ran into some friends I hadn’t seen for awhile. Always fun. I was lucky enough to have two wonderful show experiences this weekend. First was Creature and The Woods at Winston’s in Ocean Beach. I haven’t been there in years but I had a lovely time and even found a new band I like called Bedroom Talk out of Riverside. It was a late night, but a good night. The second was with Parade of Lights at The Loft at UCSD. We almost didn’t make it into the show but we got lucky and had a wonderful time! There was a lot of dancing and even an encore! Lovely evenings!

This week is shaping up to be another good one. We are just getting Rocktober started after all…
