I didn’t make it to any shows this week. Maybe that’s because I’ve had James Bay on repeat since last Sunday. I’m not even sorry about it. My vocal cords might be though from all my singing along. Oh well. I’m looking forward to the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas next Sunday in Los Angeles. That’s my bright spot on the horizon. Well, that and TAI on the 30th but that’s still a ways off. On the more local scene, I’m excited that LA loves Dear Boy will be in San Diego for the second time ever! It’s pretty darn exciting and you all should go. The rest of the week looks like this…

It’s technically Monday morning as I’ve started drafting this post. My head and soul are currently not really in my body, I’m afraid they are still at the Belly Up, reliving the James Bay show. Tonight/last night was really really special. I got to take a friend to see James Bay who had never seen him live before. We were literally upfront and only a few feet away from him, no barrier. I made new friends. The whole set was magical and although he played for over an hour, it felt entirely too short. I’d like to just live in that space for awhile. This past week was kind of a blur. Not sure why as I wasn’t super crazy busy that I can remember. Honestly, it takes me a minute to remember what I did the week before but I can remember something from when I was 5. But I digress. This week I drove up to Fullerton to see Dear Boy at the Slidebar with some friends from LA. It was so worth getting home at 2 am. Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching some friends jam some blues for a few hours. That always makes my heart happy. It was a good week.

I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving. We decided to actually do Thanksgiving at the last minute instead of just getting Mexican food. Our kitchen/living room has been a mess but it should be finished in time. Also, I’m a sucker for side dishes (give me all the green beans and mashed potatoes!!) and leftovers. But I’m thankful for good conversation with friends, family, good company, music that makes me feel things, and bands that have given me great friends.

If you’re looking for something to do before Thanksgiving, I highly suggest Billy Sunday at Park & Rec. Consider it a good excuse to get out of the house before all the crazy starts. The rest of the week looks like this….

Well, no shows for me again this week. I’m not really complaining though as I had an early Thanksgiving with family and a work function which meant a cruise around the bay and some good food. . I am bummed I missed a few of the showcases for the SD Music Thing but my energy levels were not at optimum for a night out. Did any of you make it to any of the showcases? I sure hope so! No shows for me this week but that’s totally okay. I was busy/exhausted this week but I had the joys from the shows the week before to keep me going. I also did some music management and purchased some new tracks yesterday to add to my music mix. In other news, I’ve been spending loads of time into my room due to the fact that there’s a hole in my living room ceiling due to the fact that there was a leak in a copper pipe. The whole thing needs to dry out before it can get patched up so there’s no family or living room as the family room is stuffed with the furniture from the living room. Wheeeeeeee!!!
