I don’t know if you journeyed out to the San Diego Music Thing this past weekend but it was definitely something amazing. I’m not entirely sure how many bands we saw in two days but I know we sampled more than our fair share. It felt like a mini SXSW and I was wiped out yesterday! Nothing like going back to the real world after 2 days of panels and music. Ha ha.

Despite the insane amount of music on Friday and Saturday, we still have some must see shows this week!

My apologies for being late with this. I checked the music last night and since SD is is low key, there was only a show or two to be seen but nothing super noteworthy. I did say on our Twitter account (@_localmusicnat) last night that I had a surprise and I didn’t lie… Our friends over at the Belly Up hooked us up and I happen to have a pair (or two) of tickets to give away for Lucas Nelson and Promise of the Real with The Tilt on Sept. 22nd, as well as Mother Hips with Nikki Bluhm and the Gramblers on the 23rd.

Greetings from Vancouver, B.C. I am in Canada taking a little vacation before I decide to go back to reality. This post comes to you a day early because of my limited internet access and because knowing me, I’ll get busy doing something else and completely forget about it.

Happy Monday to you all and to all a happy Monday. I know I seem awfully cheery for a Monday but I have good reason to be. Tonight is the San Diego Music Awards! What’s so fun about this event is you get to see what a range of local music San Diego had to offer. There are also performances by; The Silent Comedy, Little Hurricane, Cuckoo Chaos, Wavves, Dynamite Walls, The Penetrators, Gilbert Castellanos, and Candy Cane and Sure Palmer. Tickets are still available and it’s open to whoever feels like coming out to play 🙂
