FREE music from Joey Ryan!!

Joey Ryan’s “Broken Headlights” was track 1 on my 2010 Music Mix. Joey is one of my favorite LA-based singer-songwriters. I still contend that his most recent EP, Kenter Canyon, is the best release of 2010. And now, you can get his two most recent EP’s for FREE!! Just go to his website and hit the download button!

This is an amazing offer! While you’re on the site, check out his tour calendar to see if he’s coming to a town near you. His next LA area show seems to be March 9th at Saint Rocke.

Just let the music take you over…

The Silent Comedy Tour: Get Pumped Up!

This is one of the best promotion videos for a tour I’ve ever seen.

One of my favorite San Diego based bands is going on a West Coast tour with Academy Award winning artist Ryan Bingham (wrote a couple songs for the film Crazy Horse). They hit LA on Feb. 5th (The El Rey) and are in San Diego Feb. 6th (House of Blues). For the rest of the dates and locations, watch the video…and then watch it again because chances are you’ll be too distracted to get the dates the first time around :).

What are your plans for the holiday? Might I suggest:

To put you in the mood, Nico Vega recently released a video for one of my favorite songs, Million Years.

Tour Alert!: Anberlin, Civil Twilight, Crash Kings

That Civil Twilight certainly knows how to book fantastic tours. First with Paper Tongues and Neon Trees and now with Anberlin and Crash Kings. Can I just join that band now please?

Anyway, three bands, all worth checking out on the same tour. No hestitation there.  I just got my ticket for the LA date. Let’s do this!

Tour dates can be found here. The party comes to The House of Blues on Sunset October 8th.

The tour is to support the release of Anberlin’s new CD Dark is the Way Light is the Place which comes out September 7th. The band’s been giving away a new song to promote the album. Check it out:  Anberlin — Pray Tell

Biffy Clyro US mini tour

Very jealous of certain cities on the east coast (and Chicago) right now! For a week in September my newest band obsession, Biffy Clyro, will be in the US for a brief tour. Dates as follows:

September 13th: Allston, MA at Great Scott
September 15th: Washington, DC at DC9
September 16th: New York, NY at Brooklyn Bowl
September 17th: Philadelphia, PA at North Star Bar
September 18th: New York City, NY at Studio at The Webster
September 20th: Chicago, IL at Lincoln Hall

If you live in or near one of these cities, I’d highly recommend you go check them out! You can go here to watch all the band’s amazing videos including the newest for their single, “God & Satan”

Here’s an acoustic take on that song:

And here is my fave Biffy Clyro song:

And…I’ve just looked into plane tickets…I think I need help…
