Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 4/11-4/16

I am bouncing off the walls at the moment from a sugar high. We had a cookie rumble at work today and of course I had to try all of the contestants’ offerings.  My favorite was a lovely lemon number.  I’m also still quite happy from my weekend trip east to see some amazing bands and connect with some of my east coast family.  I got to see my bands and a few friends, eat my favorite sandwich, pet some pooches…  My plane was also hit by lightening and re-routed and I didn’t have my luggage the entire trip…but it mostly worked out in the end thanks to some amazing friends.

I’m about to head out to The Satellite for Irontom Monday! Also this week, I’m very much looking forward to Coffee Shop Arena Rock night at The Hotel Cafe on Saturday…AND my Easter boba on Sunday!

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 04/03-04/10

Last week was a great week for sitting at shows. Monday night was a one, two punch of Bootleg and Bardot, both involving comfy couches.  Then Tuesday at The Forum I had an AMAZING seat 12 rows from the stage for Panic! At The Disco (with Misterwives and Saint Motel) and Wednesday I watched Missio throwing their middle fingers in the air, again from a comfy seat! All the lovely sitting helped me conserve my energy for a weekend of craziness at WonderCon.

Next weekend I’m heading to Philadelphia to see one of my favorite bands from college, Jealousy Curve, take the stage for the first time in nearly four years.  I could not be more excited.  While I am in Philadelphia, a couple of Philly friends are coming to LA to play the Hotel Cafe’s second stage so go see Everything Turned To Color for me Friday night!  Because I’m getting back late Sunday, I’ve included an extra day in this week’s calendar.

Amanda’s SD Concert Calendar 3/27-4/2

Well, I didn’t make it to either show. Turned out Colony House was sold out despite the fact that it wasn’t posted anywhere online. Thanks House of Blues. So, that was a giant bust. I should mention there were two resale tickets on LiveNation for $65 for a $14 show. So, there’s that. Also, the Panic! show was too high of a price for me to get out of my pajamas on a Sunday. So, another week without a show. Maybe that will change this week…

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 3/27-4/2

Mon the Biff! Mon the Biff! Mon the Biff! I’m getting warmed up for my evening tonight with my beloved Biffy Clyro.  It’s either going to be the best show ever or a bit of a letdown as it’s been so long since I’ve seen them play, their greatness might be so built up a little too much in my mind.  I also went to an insanely good show last night at The Troubadour with Knox Hamilton and Colony House which feels hard to top.  Let’s see if Biffy Clyro can do it once again! SXSW 2017 – Photo Recap

Since I did not have the mental capacity to do daily recaps (and have been getting some complaints about that), I thought I’d at least throw out some photos I took each day at SXSW. Here’s a glimpse at my amazing week of music.

Monday: see full recap here

Tuesday: a day of discovery (and queso)
