I had a pretty great birthday this year. It was spent at Disneyland and was pretty magical even for a usual Disney trip. However, I really feel the need to hit the gym hard this week. I’m not sure how much that will happen given the projected rising heat for the week. I might just melt into a puddle this week. We shall see. However, I will for sure be at Taylor Swift this week. Last week’s highlights included a rockin’ (and a bit rappin’) night at The Roxy, a magical evening at Room 5 with Jay Nash and Garrison Starr, and an intimate performance from the most dynamic and compelling one man rock show that is Butch Walker. This heat has been an absolute killer this week! It rendered me nearly incapacitated today when I got home from the barn. I probably could have napped all day but decided that I needed to wake up (however sucky that was) so that I could get up early and attempt to beat the heat again. Speaking of heat, the Creature and The Woods ep release show was absolutely on fire! I’m so glad I made it out to that this past week. My impending musical adventure for the week is some Mad T Party for my birthday. If I’m being honest, after the packed week we just had, this week is looking pretty bleak.

This heat wave has proven to be quite the challenge. Today, I overcame simply by not being at home (rare for a Sunday).  I went to The Federal Bar for bagels and excellent music (Greg Holden and Ben Lee!), a birthday BBQ, and then a movie (The End of the Tour).  It wasn’t the typical day, but I am not complaining.

The crazy heat was a killer this week. I came home a few times from the barn and either passed out or needed some serious recovery time before I was semi-functional again. I did get a musical adventure this week in the form of Mad T Party at Disneyland with all my favorite people on stage at once. It had some really special moments. This week has some really cool musical adventures with the big local event being the Creature and The Woods ep release show at Casbah. I’ve done a lot of walking this weekend. Yesterday at the Pier for 98.7’s Summer Camp show and today for CicLAvia. I’m exhausted, but about to go out one more time to celebrate a friend’s birthday at the beach.
