Hey cool cats! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Mine was lovely except for the fact that I got sick. Hence the later than normal post (I’ve been sleeping off and on all day today). Either way, it’s just about time for the new year! Can I ask you something on a serious note? Where did this year go? I mean, it seems like it wasn’t that long ago that I was trapsing around in LA for the new year and now that time is upon us once again. And with it, comes a fresh batch of shows, bands, and new loves.

Internet for the past week has been spotty to nonexistant. I have lots to share and several shows to direct you towards, but I need to wait for reliable service.

BUT if you’re looking for something to do tomorrow (Monday), go to Room 5 where Paris Carney will rule the roost for the evening. Show starts at 8pm. Don’t know who all will be there, but I heard something about Caitlin Crosby. This is where I’d be if I were in town.

Kristen’s Concert Calendar: 12/20-12/26

Hope everyone’s gearing up for the holidays…after the Hotel Cafe Christmas party I attended on Friday, I’m finally starting to feel the spirit of the season. Unfortunately I am WAY behind with all the practicals (preparing for holiday travel, gift manufacturing, etc.).  Doesn’t help that my new computer is just not up to snuff (I need a tech savvy robot for these things).

Usually I venture to Philadelphia for the Christmas season. There is a fantastic show that takes place on the 26th each year supported by local radio station, WMMR. This year the Mistletoe Jam features IKE, SINAI, The Shakers, Venice Sunlight, and Anthony Renzulli Band.  I wish I could be there. But instead of spending the holidays with my musical family in Philly, I am opting to see my actual family in Missouri (to the grandparent’s house I go!). Have yet to look into concerting options in the Show Me State, so if anyone reading this happens to know of any good venues or local bands in the St. Louis region, let me know!

Unlike Philly, where over the holidays everyone is in town and local bands shows are plentiful, LA seems to disappear and shows become scarce. Still, here’s what I found:

Pepper’s Ghost Countdown: 5 Weeks!

Every year, Pepper’s Ghost wouldput on a Halloween show. These were some of the best, most memorable shows. They even performed a Halloween song entitled “I Am A Ghost”.
