A couple of last minute show announcements led to a rockin’ good weekend that included a second helping of NYC’s Monobloc who are slowly working on building up a west coast fan base (count me in!).

The Echo Park neighborhood really showed up for Echo Park Rising this weekend. Bars had lines out the door on Saturday and music seemed to be pouring from every storefront. It was a fun opportunity to sample local bands, but my weekend highlights were discovering new neighborhood spots including a chocolate dispensary and a tea house that specializes in Taiwanese oolongs (my favorite!).

Next week we have Yungblud in town celebrating my favorite release of the year, Idols, Augustana with an intimate night at the Venice West and SXSW discovery Monobloc rocking the Kibitz Room.
