I know I was a bit abrupt with my post last week. I apologize. Between all the bands I follow throwing out streaming options all over the place with constant additions and changes, I didn’t really know what to do with myself or this calendar. Live music is still canceled for the foreseeable future but there are so many bands and artists doing pop-ups all over the place. They are even just hopping online to chat. I trust you all follow the bands you love and for me to make you a list, especially when times and dates are changing all over the place, it seems like a futile effort on my end. However, if you want a more curated list, you can check out Kristen’s calendar here.
She’s also keeping it updated throughout the week. So, if you know her and love her and her calendar is doing it for you, hug her when this is all over. Okay? Okay.
I trust you all to be following the various socials of all the bands you love. Please keep in mind that you can set notifications on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, so you never miss anything.
For Instagram:
- Go to the page of the artist you like who you want to keep close tabs on.
- Tap the “following” button and you’ll see a pop-up including; add to close friends, notifications, mute, restrict, and unfollow.
- Tap “notifications” and adjust accordingly.
- Don’t forget to adjust settings on devices to get notifications if you’ve previously turned them off.
For Facebook:
- Go to the page of the artist.
- Click the “following” button and adjust to see first. (See a pattern?)
- Don’t forget to adjust settings on devices to get notifications if you’ve previously turned them off.
You can also check on Bandisintown for events and notifications, but they aren’t the most accurate. I’ve also seen StubHub put on streaming concerts. There’s a lot going on out there. Artists have also been saving their live videos to their Instagram profiles so you can rewatch or view at a later time if you’re unavailable when it’s live. It’s a weird and wild time out there, so find something that works for you.
Be safe and much love to you all.
