You know what I’ve been missing most these last couple of weeks? The Hotel Cafe Holiday party. Aside from being one of my favorite events of the year, it is also my gateway into the holiday season. This holiday season has largely been ushered in via UK-based livestream events including a socially distant Kaiser Chiefs transforming “I Predict a Riot” into a Holiday classic, Roe giving us a beautiful rendition of “River” in an abandoned, yet decorated hair salon, and Sam Fender singing “Winter Song” in a hoodie on a grand piano surrounded by an orchestra. All very 2020. Last week also included sets from Tyler Hilton, Ferris & Sylvester, Bones UK, and the long-awaited reunion of The Milk Carton Kids!
