It was another magical night at The Hotel Cafe last week when I went to see Kids in America and ended up bearing witness to a pop-up James Bay acoustic set. Turns out the British crooner is (almost) as in love with the venue as I am. He was certainly at home for storyteller hour where the room was treated to anecdotes in addition to songs spanning his discography, including deeper cuts and audience requests. It was a night to remember!
The big names in small spaces trend continues next week in LA with Joe Jonas at the Mint, Sarah McLaughlan playing two nights at the Masonic Lodge and one of my favorites, Evan Bartels, back at the Hotel Cafe (he will be big soon enough).
