Happy Labor Day Weekend! I’m spending my weekend mostly laboring, but might get out to see some friends tomorrow. This past week was painfully show-lite and I’m suffering. I’m currently watching Once in an attempt to temper the withdrawal. I also saw one of my fave bands play in my dream last night if that counts. Aside from the fact that they were performing in a hospital cafeteria, it was a great show!

Last week’s highlights included a rockin’ (and a bit rappin’) night at The Roxy, a magical evening at Room 5 with Jay Nash and Garrison Starr, and an intimate performance from the most dynamic and compelling one man rock show that is Butch Walker. This heat wave has proven to be quite the challenge. Today, I overcame simply by not being at home (rare for a Sunday). I went to The Federal Bar for bagels and excellent music (Greg Holden and Ben Lee!), a birthday BBQ, and then a movie (The End of the Tour). It wasn’t the typical day, but I am not complaining.

I’ve done a lot of walking this weekend. Yesterday at the Pier for 98.7’s Summer Camp show and today for CicLAvia. I’m exhausted, but about to go out one more time to celebrate a friend’s birthday at the beach.
