Video Premiere: Nightmare and the Cat- Be Your Own God

LA based rockers Nightmare and the Cat have released their new video “Be Your Own God” from their debut EP Simple. While not the same as being able to see them kick some serious butt on stage, the next best thing is imagining this video was shot in your living room.

If you like what you see (and hear) you can catch them this Sunday 10/27 in LA at the El Rey with Sky Ferreira.

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 10/20-10/27

Last week was a good one: new EPs from The Kin and Hudson Taylor, excellent shows from up and coming acts like Irontom, Kid Karate, The Delta Saints, and Rags & Ribbons, and The Cardinals made it to the World Series! I also learned what shoes NOT to wear to a punk rock show. Frank Turner had me bouncing up and down so much, it hurt to walk for days.

My top pick next week goes to Carbon Leaf who is making a rare LA appearance Monday night at The Hotel Cafe. They’ve had two new releases this year, the celtic-influenced Ghost Dragons Attack Castles and the more Americana sounding Constellation Prize both full of musical gems. My other can’t miss is The Heavy Heavy Hearts at Harvelle’s on Friday. The bluesy-rockers are playing their final show in LA before moving to Nashville.

Kristen’s LA Concert Calendar: 10/14-10/20

I hope everyone was able to make it out to Culture Collide this past week. The energy at that festival is amazing. I was only able to go Friday night, but I packed in as much as I could.
