An illustration of my current level of sanity: In order to satisfy my desire to both check out new music releases and get some indoor exercise, last week I listened to newly released tracks and judged them based on how much they made me want to dance. Despite new bangers from Irontom and Picture This, the surprise winner of the new music dance contest was a version of Dermot Kennedy’s “All My Friends” that inspired a full-blown ballet routine and really made me sweat!
Speaking of new music (and my current overuse of the word “bangers”), being stuck in this world of online concerts has oddly allowed me more time in the other countries, specifically the UK where I continue to “see” very promising artists for the first time. My daily trip to Jimmy’s in Manchester last week found me in the same virtual space as James Gillespie, Love Fame Tragedy, Minke, and new discoveries Corella, Sauce, and Electric Enemy (all fantastic!)
