Let’s talk about a pandemic positive that ends with me being the proud owner of a postcard featuring two human-sized rabbits, with holes in their ears, squaring up to duel with pistols…

Is that an intriguing enough set-up? One of my favorite 2020 reads was Jasper Fforde’s The Constant Rabbit, which indeed features rabbits as depicted on the postcard.  Without live concerts, books have become my best escape these last several months.  The real pandemic positive, however, has been my discovery (or perhaps re-discovery) of the independent bookstore. These fun, niche shops around the country have been moving their fun, niche events online available to all! One such event at Murder by the Book in Houston, Texas was a conversation with Jasper Fforde and Matt Haig (The Midnight Library).  The shop had these signed postcards in support of the event so, voila, pistol-toting rabbits displayed on my bookshelf. A clear win!
